A Farewell to the Gulf of Mexico

This film comes from my heart and soul. I have lived here on the Mississippi Coast since 1987 and this is my playground, my home, my life's blood. So much is already lost and my heart breaks knowing that it will never be the same in my lifetime. All of the things that made this "home" are dying and destroyed for eternity for me. For those of you who don't live on the Gulf and have never had the opportunity to visit, I am sad that you will never know what an amazingly beautiful paradise has been lost. Please...share with anyone and I appreciate your comments. May God Bless us all.

  1. Hopefully we can all come together and take responsibility for our actions and try to fix this.If not for us in our lifetime but for our children and all who come after us. Praying for all of you EVERY day.

  3. Why post "god bless us all" at the end? God will not "bless" us all for destroying the Earth. It should say "may God have mercy on us all."

  4. Dear Denise,

Thank you so much for caring enough to sit down and make this video. I'll pass it on and I hope that many, many others will do the same.

    Is there hope?

Only in that I believe this catastrophic disaster may finally start to end the apathy, the stupidity and the selfishness of our species, for it is going to touch us all, in some way or another.

I pray that it will give birth to new kinds of humans, who no longer care about their big cars or their fast life-styles, but who see themselves as Guardians of this Planet and all the species upon it.

We have taken so very much, done such huge damage for so very long. It is now way past time try to put things right, if we are able..

Yes, may God forgive us all, but may he also bless us with the intelligence to finally give up this vacuous, self-indulgent, corporate lifestyle that has ripped our souls out from under our noses.

The time has come, right this moment, to re-connect with Mother Earth, to ask her forgiveness and to fight for Her, as never before.

Take care and please know that there are many, many good people out here who care so much about what is happening.

    With love
    Lizzie

  5. Denise...Thank you for this!! IT IS A BEAUTIFUL TRIBUTE!!I am so sad about the destruction that has become of our gulf. I cry everyday and I know so many others like you feel the same. I can't even imagine what the future holds for all the wild life and humans alike that will be lossed or slowly die due to the careless and reckless behavior of BP and everyone involved with them. Money makes the world go round but money will also be the death of us. I am gald to have found you as a friend to share my feelings and hope for a solution for our existance!
